The chiropractic system is based on the idea that the spine is literally the backbone of human health. Misalignments of the vertebrae caused by poor posture or trauma result in pressure on the spinal cord, which may lead to diminished function and illness. The chiropractor seeks to analyze and correct these misalignments through spinal manipulation or adjustment.

The brain is connected to the spinal cord through a multitude of nerves. These nerves tell the body how to function. If these nerves are impinged (pushed on) by a vertebra (bone of the spine) that is out of place, they cannot function properly. This is where disease and sickness evolve (happen). When all the bones in the spine are properly aligned, the body can function normally, and sickness and disease and pain do not exist.

It takes time to get these vertebrae to get in line because many times they have been out of place for a long time. Through alignment of these bones and therapy administered to the muscles that have also been stressed through the misalignment, then harmony begins to exist, and the body functions more normally.

Chiropractic is the healthy, natural alternative to prescription and over the counter drugs, which only mask the pain or symptoms a person may feel. The side effects of these drugs are often worse than the symptom for which you are taking them.

In today’s fast paced world, many natural ingredients that supply essential nutrients are not consumed. Processed and fast foods are empty calories.
